Daisies can take pride in earning Learning Petals and Participation Patches in a traditional troop setting or on an individual basis. The Daisy journey provides a nurturing environment and often features local field trips, learning about science, nature and the world around us, and exploration of the arts.

Under the framework of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, sample activities for Daisies include:
- arts and crafts projects like finger-painting murals and making colorful barrettes and paper-bag puppets
- planning a picnic and making snacks
- planting a community garden
- earning Learning Petals for activities like reading fun books or helping in the community
Encouraged to express interests, feelings and daily experiences, Daisy Girl Scouts learn the importance of sharing with and listening to others. For many, Girl Scouting is a first-time activity outside the home and school. For some, it is their first opportunity to see themselves as individuals.
