Kayla Donohue and her mother Lori were members of Girl Scout Troop 1439 Brewster, NY. In 2009 they were both was taken from us by a drunk driver while leaving dance class.
Kayla was a vivacious girl who loved Girl Scouts, dance and softball. Her mother Lori was a Cookie mom and was a Girl Scout her-self.
In 2010, Kayla’s friends in Brewster, NY. Girl Scout Troop 1439 created KDAY as a way to remember our friends. Each year, the Brewster Girls Scout Community spends the day outdoors playing softball, doing community service, and connecting with friends in the spirit of sisterhood. They will assemble
Juliette’s scrapbook for KDAY 2013 so that Kayla’s community and family can see where she has been and with whom she has shared Kayla’s story. Please join us in honoring Kayla and Lori Donohue by participating in the Juliette Scrapbook Project.

Please return scrapbook pages by June 1, 2013. After that, Juliette can continue her travels, perhaps creating more memories and scrapbook pages for KDAY 2014.

The High 5 program gives customers the opportunity to win 5 cases of their favorite Girl Scout cookies for themselves and 5 cases donated to Operation Gratitude in their name. Here’s how it works:
• Customers that buy five boxes or more during a single purchase from a girl or toop and donate them to the I Care program.
• The girl or troop should give the customer a Good Deed Doer certificate. Each girl will be given a supply of certificates by her troop.
• The customer follows the instructions on the certificate to enter their name in the online High 5 drawing.
• The Council will draw the names of six winners in April and ship Girl Scout cookies directly to the winners and to the winner’s choice of charity in the winner’s name.
Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio is pleased to announce our participation in the President’s Service Award program as a Certifying Organization. The President’s Service Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard measured by the number of hours served over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime. To date, the President’s Council has bestowed more than 400,000 awards to the Nation’s deserving volunteers.
To qualify, volunteers simply submit a record of their service hours to Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio, who will then verify the service and certify the hours. Service hours can be accumulated through work on a variety of projects throughout the year. The only requirement is that the hours be completed within 12 months; recipients can qualify for a new Award each year.
Any individual can then receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for volunteer hours earned over a 12-month period or over the course of a lifetime at home or abroad.
To earn a President's Volunteer Service Award, individuals must keep a record of their activities and hours of volunteer service. The service hours must be submitted to a Certifying Organization who certifies the hours served. Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio is a Certifying Organization.
