Info For Parents

Why should your daughter be a Girl Scout?

By becoming a Girl Scout, your daughter will reach her full potential in an all-girl environment. We will help her develop confidence, strong leadership and social skills, a social conscience, conviction about her own potential and self-worth and moral, ethical and social values that will provide her with the foundation for a successful future.

At every grade level, research has shown that Girl Scouts:

- achieve higher grades

- have twice as many leadership opportunities

- are more likely to make sound moral decisions

- are less likely to have sexual relations as a teen

- are less likely to use drugs and alcohol

- have stronger relationships with their parents

Girls will participate in and learn the importance of community service.

Girl Scouts spend thousands of hours per year volunteering. Girls volunteer throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Girls volunteer at organizations such as homeless shelters, convalescent homes, churches, schools, crisis centers and community centers. Girl Scouts complete volunteer projects that provide support for men and women in the military. Girl Scouts plant trees and participate in activities to help the environment.

Girls learn to interact with people of all ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.

Girls learn how to treat people and their environment with respect.

By interacting with others in a positive, inclusive environment, Girl Scouts gain self‐esteem. Girl Scouts provides a safe place for girls to have fun while learning skills that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Girl Scouts is an affordable alternative to other sports/activities.

Registration is only $12 annually. There are many free programs and activities offered to Girl Scouts.
